A new block policy concept has been launched by Isis, the legal indemnity specialists, to offer an easy and cost efficient way for solicitors to arrange legal indemnities.

This approach has been specially designed for conveyancing solicitors who complete a large number of transactions each week, allowing them to automatically insure their clients against a range of common title defects, reducing paperwork and the need for individual payments.

Mark Dennis, Business Development Director at Isis explained the decision to offer this type of policy; “Solicitors handling a high number of transactions every week have to individually arrange policies for each and every case, which can be time consuming and costly. A good example is the recent increased need for chancel repair liability cover. Rather than having to arrange separate policies for each case, we can offer a block policy to cover every transaction and at a greatly reduced rate.”

The policy is simple to administer, and just requires solicitors to supply a monthly record of transactions to Isis. Response to the product so far has been positive, with a number of solicitors keen to take advantage of the benefits of a block policy.
